What is the Burn-or-Save mechanism?

The Burn-or-Save mechanism is a new feature of the Crypto Stamp CHLI 3.0 that gives collectors an active role in their collecting experience. After activating their crypto stamp, collectors must make a final and irreversible choice:

Save – Keep the stamp and receive the corresponding NFT.
Burn – Permanently sacrifice the digital twin, unlocking an alternative NFT outcome.

Once the decision has been made, it cannot be changed. This innovative mechanism introduces a new level of interaction, rarity, and strategy to crypto stamp collecting.

What does “Save” mean?

Choosing Save means preserving the Crypto Stamp CHLI 3.0 and keeping it in its original state. In return, collectors receive the NFT associated with their crypto stamp. The physical stamp remains intact, and the digital collectible becomes part of their collection.

What does “Burn” mean?

Choosing Burn means permanently sacrificing the digital twin of the Crypto Stamp CHLI 3.0. In return, collectors unlock an alternative NFT outcome. Once a stamp has been burned, the decision is final and cannot be reversed. This mechanism introduces an additional element of rarity and strategy to the collecting experience.

Can I change my decision later?

No. The decision between Save and Burn is final and irreversible. Once you have made your choice, it cannot be changed or undone. This permanent decision is a key feature of the Burn-or-Save mechanism and makes each collector’s journey unique.

Do I need any prior knowledge of cryptocurrencies?

No. The Crypto Stamp CHLI 3.0 is designed to be accessible to both experienced collectors and newcomers. No prior knowledge of cryptocurrencies, NFTs, or blockchain technology is required to enjoy the collecting experience. Clear instructions guide you through each step of the activation process.

What is an NFT?

An NFT (Non-Fungible Token) is a unique digital asset stored on a blockchain. Unlike cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, each NFT is one of a kind and cannot be exchanged on a one-to-one basis with another NFT.

In the case of the Crypto Stamp CHLI 3.0, the NFT serves as the digital counterpart to the physical stamp, combining traditional collecting with digital ownership. Each NFT can be uniquely identified, verified, and collected as part of a digital collection.

How do I activate my Crypto Stamp?

  1. Scan the QR code on your Crypto Stamp.
  2. Open the digital experience.
  3. Enter your mnemonic phrase.
  4. Choose between Burn and Save.
  5. Receive your NFT.

Is the stamp valid for postage?

Yes. The Crypto Stamp CHLI 3.0 is a fully valid postage stamp and can be used to send mail. It is the world's first crypto stamp that is valid for postage in both Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Can I use the stamp for postage and still keep the NFT?

Yes. The Crypto Stamp CHLI 3.0 can be used as a valid postage stamp and, once activated, the associated NFT remains yours. Using the physical stamp for mailing does not affect ownership of the NFT you have received through the activation process.

Can I track the decisions made by the community?

Yes. After activation, you can follow how collectors around the world are choosing between Burn and Save. The digital experience provides insights into the community’s decisions, allowing you to see how the global collecting community is shaping the outcome of the Crypto Stamp CHLI 3.0.
